Why We No Longer Use Lead Shields
Patient safety is our top priority. In recent years, studies have shown that lead shields might actually increase the risk of radiation exposure. Shields may also hide a part of the body that the doctor needs to examine. Our team recommends that patients undergoing any imaging exam not use lead shields.
