Jordan Valley’s Our Healthy Start program is a collaborative effort with the Springfield-Greene County Women Infants and Children (WIC) office, St. John’s Health System and the Doula Foundation.

Pregnancy is the start of a new chapter in your family’s life. A good start begins with good choices, and we hope you’ll choose our Healthy Start at Jordan Valley Community Health Center. With Our Healthy Start you have the option to receive your prenatal care in a group. Our Healthy Start prenatal care provides both your regular check-ups and all the self-care and education you need for a healthy pregnancy and child.

One unique aspect of Our Healthy Start is the participation of Carla Boone, the only Certified Nurse Midwife in the region. Carla is a specially trained advanced practice nurse who has had extensive training in the care and education of women before, during and after pregnancy. Carla provides prenatal care, labor, and delivery support as well as your baby’s first check-ups.

Obstetricians from St. John’s Dr. Meera Scarrow and Dr. David Redfern also collaborate through Our Healthy Start to meet all your medical needs. Drs. Scarrow and Redfern will also be on hand to provide assistance with problem pregnancies or other women’s health issues.

Organizations like the Doula Foundation and the March of Dimes also work with Jordan Valley to meet the needs of Our Healthy Start patients.
