Wouldn’t it be great if you and your baby could go to the same facility for all of your healthcare? You can. The Our Healthy Start program at Jordan Valley provides just that!
Jordan Valley’s Our Healthy Start program is a collaborative effort with the Springfield-Greene County Women Infants and Children (WIC) office, Mercy and the Doula Foundation.
Pregnancy is the start of a new chapter in your family’s life. A good start begins with good choices, and we hope you’ll choose our Healthy Start at Jordan Valley Community Health Center. With Our Healthy Start you will receive your prenatal care in a group. Our Healthy Start prenatal care provides both your regular check-ups and all the self-care and education you need for a healthy pregnancy and healthy baby.
Group Care
When you enroll in Our Healthy Start, you’ll meet with your provider and other expectant moms to have refreshments and discuss everything about pregnancy. Each patient also gets one on one time with their provider where the baby’s growth will be tracked, the progress of the pregnancy will be monitored, and you can ask your provider questions.
Labor and Delivery
Your provider will help you prepare for your hospital birth at Mercy in Springfield or Cox South Hospital. If you decide to have your baby at Mercy, you will be cared for during your delivery by our obstetrician partners. If you choose to have your baby at Cox, you will be cared for by supervised Family Practice Residents.
Other Support Services
Our Healthy Start gives you access to our partners’ services in the community, including the Women, Infants, and Children Program (WIC), the Doula Foundation of Mid-America, assistance with applying for Temporary Medicaid during pregnancy, and many other resources are available to meet your needs.
After Delivery
We offer not only prenatal care at Our Healthy Start, but we also care for yoru children after delivery, and your other women’s health needs like annual exams and planning for your family.
